Your Harness is basically just what it says. It goes around your waist so as to keep you attched to your kite. Once you are D ringed in you wont be able to get out because of the chicken loop which is a peice of tubing that is made to be easy to get in but not out of.
However dont worry even with you chicken loop in place you still have a safety system within the lines and control bar to de-power the kite so you won't be swept out to sea.
