Wakeboard Lake Norman

I told you guys last week that I was planning on going out to the lake (Lake Norman, NC) to waskeboard with a few friends of mine. Funny enough their names are Jon and Jon. Last Friday i went up to their house in Davidson and we headed out on the water. They just got a new Malibu ski boat and it is really awesome. For those of you who dont know much about ski boats, the newer models allow you to actually flood the back compartment so that the boat sits lower in the water and thus it creates a bigger wake. Friday was the first time I've ever been on a boat like that when the flooding feature misfunctioned. We were riding out across the water and decided to pump the water out of the boat so that we could get back to the house faster and we were about done wakeboarding anyway. We flip the switch and nothing happens. So we try again and again and come to find out not only was the pump malfuntioning but actually there was still water flowing in the boat.After a little investigation they hadn't had the boat inspected before they bought it. Now their $16,000 is at the bottom of Lake Norman and the last I heard from them on saturday the diver they highered to come out and find it is haveing trouble finding it.The lesson here is always inspect or have you gear inspected no matter how minor it may seem. You never know when a trip to the lake is going to turn into a trip to the bottom of the lake!!!
